About our Farm

Morgan's Fortunato Farm was created as a result of the lifelong interest of the Morgans to develop a farm where the life of the livestock could be preserved and the farm could still be self-sustaining and even profitable. With alpacas, that dream has become a reality that has exceeded all expectations. The endeavor of the farm began after discovering alpacas at a small festival, while living in Western Maryland. After exhaustive education and research into these fascinating creatures, the farm was born and alpacas became a permanent part of the Morgan family. The farm was moved to thirty acres of rolling land, already owned by the Morgans, near family, in scenic West Virginia.

The scientific backgrounds of the Morgans have proven invaluable to their farming practices and to their understanding of genetics, nutrition and the health and wellness of alpacas. The experience from years of medical and surgical training is consistently and skillfully applied to the herd management and breeding decisions at Fortunato Farm. The farm is closely maintained, with extensive hands-on care. Living in a home built above the barn allows the Morgans to monitor the alpacas on a near twenty-four hour a day basis!

Morgan's Fortunato Farm is a full service farm, offering sales, breeding, birthing, brokering and agistment services. The prior business ownership and management experience of the Morgans has helped to maintain the important farm goal of providing every customer with true service. Your calls will be returned and you will receive comprehensive, long-term support, guaranteed. As a customer, you are provided with any and all of the information necessary to help you feel comfortable with alpacas on your own. If more distant ownership better suits your needs or your interests, you can be confident that your alpacas will receive excellent treatment and love, should you decide to entrust them to the care of the farm.

Morgan's Fortunato Farm operates under the belief that a successful fiber industry can be a reality in North America. Their focus on white alpacas stems from the versatility of the fiber and the high quality of the fleece. The farm is dedicated to the elevation of the standard of the American alpaca herd and believes every farm can do its part to promote quality control and sound breeding practices. The caliber of the alpaca herd at Morgan's Fortunato farm exemplifies that belief and proves they are serious breeders for the discriminating buyer.

Visit Morgan's Fortunato Farm where you will receive a warm welcome and generous hospitality. The Fortunato Farm Boutique offers a wide variety of stylish alpaca apparel and products, taking the fruit of the alpaca, their beautiful fiber, to fruition. Yarn and other merchandise is available from the very alpacas you will be able to meet on the farm. Visitors are always welcome, by appointment, and the Morgans are excited to demonstrate how finer fleece is the fruit of good breeding.
